About the position

The Personal Support Specialist II role at Pathlight Group involves providing one-on-one personal care and companionship to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The position focuses on promoting the dignity, safety, and well-being of the individual while assisting with daily living activities and community engagement. The role requires availability on Mondays from 4-8 PM and includes training for candidates who meet the basic requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care which may include eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, and support with walking, transfers, and lifting.
• Participate in the individualized services of each person and stay current on all changes, following established methods and procedures.
• Remain in attendance and fully available to individuals served at all times.
• Follow program policies and procedures for crisis management, emergencies, health, safety, and human rights.
• Respond to routine inquiries and communicate with the individual's family, friends, and allied staff as outlined by the program supervisor.
• Provide First Aid/CPR and seek emergency medical care as needed.
• Accompany individuals to appointments and provide transportation as requested.
• Submit work time sheets and summaries of activities in a timely manner.
• Attend meetings or training as directed and participate in discussions regarding the individual's progress.
• Engage in general maintenance and laundering activities specific to the individual's needs.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the human services field or personal care services.
• Knowledge of individuals with developmental disabilities.
