About the position

Gold's Gym, a legendary fitness brand with a rich history dating back to 1965, is seeking passionate fitness professionals to join our team as Personal Trainers. As a Personal Trainer at Gold's Gym, you will play a crucial role in helping our members achieve their fitness goals through personalized training programs. You will be responsible for conducting complimentary personal training sessions for new members, allowing them to experience the benefits of personal training before making a commitment. Your expertise will guide clients through tailored fitness programs that include education on proper nutrition, cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, and other fitness offerings available at Gold's Gym. In this role, you will develop individualized exercise programs that are effective and challenging, ensuring they align with each member's personal fitness goals. You will maintain a highly organized client filing system, documenting all necessary client information, including health assessments and progress checks. Your responsibilities will also include utilizing floor hours to assist members with exercises and equipment demonstrations, maintaining a safe and clean workout environment, and fostering professional relationships with our member base. As a Personal Trainer, you will apply your expert-level fitness knowledge to keep members engaged and motivated, encouraging them to try new challenges and explore different Gold's Gym class offerings. You will conduct thorough gym walkthroughs to ensure the facility meets Gold's Gym standards and assist the club in achieving monthly revenue goals set by management. This position reports directly to the Assistant General Manager and requires a commitment to excellence in service and support for our diverse member community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complimentary personal training sessions for new members to get them started in the right direction.
  • Conduct personal training sessions for clients using their personalized training program.
  • Process new member intake questions to understand fitness goals and relevant constraints.
  • Develop individualized exercise programs that are effective and challenging.
  • Maintain professional support for club members with different fitness experiences.
  • Maintain a highly organized client filing system with necessary client information.
  • Utilize floor hours to assist members with exercises and equipment demonstrations.
  • Apply expert-level fitness knowledge to keep members engaged and motivated.
  • Conduct thorough gym walkthroughs to clean and re-rack weights.
  • Assist the club in achieving monthly revenue goals set by management.

Requirements

  • National fitness certification (NASM, ACE, ISSA, or NCCA accredited equivalent) must be current or obtained.
  • Experience in designing and implementing fitness programming based on varying individual needs.
  • CPR/AED certification must be hands-on and current.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science related field is a plus.
  • Organized and dependable with an approachable attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and adaptable coaching methods.
  • Ability to quickly determine program changes to keep members engaged.
  • Ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit for up to 8 hours throughout the workday.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science related field is a plus.
