About the position

The Personal Trainer at Trilogy Lake Norman is responsible for setting fitness goals, developing personalized exercise programs, and providing training to ensure safe equipment use. This role aims to promote a lifelong health and fitness program among members and guests, while maintaining a professional trainer-client relationship. The position reports to the Spa & Fitness Director and requires a commitment to customer service and adherence to facility policies.

Responsibilities

  • Model and maintain the standards set in the BlueStar 10 and adhere to facility policies.
  • Monitor facility usage to ensure safety and security for members and guests.
  • Discuss lifestyle management and fitness goals with members to design personalized exercise routines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in trainer-client relationships.
  • Create customized exercise programs based on individual needs and limitations.
  • Engage clients during sessions and provide motivation and support.
  • Provide training for safe equipment use and report incidents to the Spa & Fitness Director.
  • Maintain client records and workout notes as necessary.
  • Work assigned schedule and ensure cleanliness of equipment and work environment.
  • Build and maintain a client base by setting sales goals for Personal Training packages.
  • Participate in facility events and activities as directed by management.
  • Promote spa services that complement fitness routines.
  • Assist with lifting and storing facility equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year previous customer service and personal trainer experience preferred.
  • Certified as a Personal Trainer from a nationally recognized agency (e.g., ACE, AFFA, ASCM, NSCA, NSPA).
  • Current First Aid, CPR/AED certification, and other required safety certifications.
  • Computer literate with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to listen to clients and provide motivation for their fitness goals.
  • Ability to demonstrate equipment use for exercise training.
  • Must be able to lift 45-pound weight plates and direct classes with volume.
  • Ability to write client notes and reports accurately.
  • Professional manner and appearance with excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.
