About the position

The YMCA of Saginaw is seeking passionate and certified personal trainers to enhance their fitness programs. This part-time role involves working with clients one-on-one or in groups, focusing on functional fitness coaching and program development.

Responsibilities

• Create and lead personalized training and group fitness sessions.
• Conduct and evaluate health history questionnaires and fitness assessments.
• Promote and sell personal training services to meet session targets.
• Maintain continuing education credits and relevant national certifications.
• Adhere to Fitness Floor expectations during unscheduled personal training or wellness consultation periods.

Requirements

• NCCA-Accredited Personal Training Certification from an approved organization (e.g., ACSM, ACE, NSCA, NASM).
• Additional certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED within 30 days of hire.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups.
• Experience working with diverse age groups and fitness levels.
• Ability to respond effectively to safety and emergency situations.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Exercise Science, or a related field.
• 1 year of experience in personal and group training.
• 1 year of experience in the health and fitness field.
