About the position

The Personnel Employment Assistant position at Serco involves providing administrative support to the Navy Recruiting Command in Anchorage, AK. This role focuses on engaging in high-profile administrative projects, ensuring effective communication, and maintaining organized records to support the recruiting efforts of the Navy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to program administrators by offering administrative services to type, edit, and distribute various correspondence under established guidelines.
  • Prepare personal awards based on an awards template and engrave names and command logos on plaques according to standard operating procedures.
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and visitors.
  • Schedule and plan meetings/appointments, including conference calls.
  • Liaise with staff members, applicants, and the general public daily.
  • Develop and maintain filing systems for applicant files, general correspondence, forms, reports, and other materials as directed.
  • Assist with distribution, photocopying, faxing, mailing, and preparation of routine correspondence and outgoing materials.
  • Coordinate, compile, and maintain data for submission in monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Assist with screening, reviewing, and verifying the accuracy of applicant enlistment paperwork and update documents using secure automated personnel data systems.
  • Organize, collect, analyze, and present statistical information related to applicant tracking, goal attainment, and marketing analysis for officer and enlisted programs.
  • Prepare reports for Program Managers and higher-level personnel regarding recurring problems, corrective actions taken, and resource needs to meet recruiting objectives.
  • Obtain workload data and track progress in meeting objectives using web-based Navy applications and other commercially available programs.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • A High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor's or Master's degree can account for years of experience).
  • 0-2 years of working experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • High proficiency in the entire Microsoft Office 2010 suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint Workspace.
  • Experience editing and formatting documents according to SECNAV awards instruction and Navy Correspondence Manual.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay rate of $19.27 plus an additional $4.23/hr for Health and Welfare (H&W).
