About the position

The Personnel Payroll Processing Specialist will be part of a project team focused on auditing and preparing Official Personnel Folders (OPFs) for conversion to an electronic format. This role involves ensuring compliance with federal HR regulations and managing personnel and payroll actions effectively. The position requires collaboration with a diverse team of HR experts to ensure the successful completion of the OPF project, which includes reviewing and validating employee records and processing payroll actions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform an extensive review of each client employee OPF or eOPF to validate documents and records.
  • Identify incorrect or missing documents and calculate Service Computation Dates (SCD).
  • Verify correct retirement coverage codes and identify Veterans' Preferences.
  • Review Standard Form (SF)-50s and associated documents, resumes, and service histories.
  • Provide weekly reports tracking the number of OPF and eOPF folders reviewed and completed.
  • Complete an OPF and eOPF Review checklist for each reviewed OPF and eOPF.
  • Purge/remove all documents not listed in the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Serve as expert resources on coding and processing personnel and payroll actions using CHRIS and NFC.
  • Review all personnel and payroll actions using appropriate Federal and Agency policy guidance.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and respond to complex inquiries regarding payroll and personnel matters.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience coding and processing personnel and payroll actions.
  • Knowledge and experience using NFC.
  • Experience using a front-end system such as PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with an OPF project of similar size and scope is highly desired.
