About the position

The Personnel Security Specialist will serve in the Personnel Security Branch of the Security Support Services Division at the Trident Refit Facility in Bangor, WA. This role involves providing technical advice on personnel security regulations and procedures, administering security clearance processes, and conducting personnel security interviews. The specialist will also be responsible for training and counseling subordinate staff, maintaining sensitive investigative materials, and preparing written articles on security policies for distribution within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical advisor on Personnel Security rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Administer all functions associated with processing employees for security clearances.
• Conduct in-depth personnel security interviews to assess security clearance eligibility.
• Provide training and counseling to subordinates on their responsibilities within the program office.
• Prepare written articles on security policies and procedures for publication and distribution.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level.
• Experience evaluating and implementing policies and procedures for personnel security programs.
