Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a dedicated Personnel Security Specialist to join our Badging and Clearances department. This role is essential in ensuring the security and integrity of our personnel access systems. The successful candidate will work a 4x10 schedule, enjoying every Friday off, and will be based out of our Central Facilities. The Personnel Security Specialist will be responsible for processing necessary documents to obtain passes, badges, and security clearances for employees, as well as interviewing individuals to clarify information submitted for review. This position reports directly to the manager of the Badging and Clearances department. In this role, you will initiate pre-employment background screenings and may perform initial and annual certification processes for the Human Reliability Program (HRP). You will issue security badges and permits, ensuring accurate database input for the INL access control systems. Additionally, you will manage badge issuance documentation for INL employees and subcontractors, ensuring that all inactive and lost badges are promptly removed from the system. You will also be responsible for U.S. visitor management and access, facilitating the international colleague review and access process, and conducting reviews of governmental forms for completeness and accuracy before submission to the Department of Energy (DOE). Your responsibilities will include distributing program information to customers and collaborators, maintaining documentation of administrator processes, and assisting with program reports. You will provide reports to Counterintelligence and maintain individual HRP files. Furthermore, you will facilitate the drug/alcohol testing and documentation process, perform clearance processes for HRP personnel, and assist the system administrator for Personnel Security programs and systems. Responding to incoming Personnel Security or HRP ServiceID emails and providing on-the-job training (OJT) for other program personnel will also be part of your duties.
