About the position
The Pet Groomer at CityVet Capitol Hill is responsible for maintaining the physical appearance of companion animals through high-quality grooming services. This role emphasizes building lasting relationships with clients while ensuring the well-being of pets. The position requires effective communication with clients and the ability to manage a grooming schedule efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the physical appearance of animals by providing grooming services such as bathing, nail trims, ear cleanings, anal gland expression, and haircuts.
- Establish and cultivate lasting client relationships through high-quality grooming services.
- Manage the grooming schedule to efficiently coordinate client needs with staff availability.
- Perform thorough client communication and maintain electronic records of client preferences and animal habits.
- Train, supervise, and develop bathing team members on proper bathing policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
- Understanding and ability to properly and safely restrain animals.
- One year of experience as a Groomer, Groomer's Apprentice, or formal instruction from a reputable grooming program.
