About the position

The Pet Grooming Salon Manager at PetSmart is responsible for leading the operations of the grooming salon, ensuring exceptional customer service, and fostering a caring environment for pets and their owners. This role involves onboarding new associates, performing grooming services, and maintaining the safety and well-being of pets and staff. The manager will also have opportunities for career growth within the company.

Responsibilities

• Onboard all new salon associates and groomers, ensuring their completion of all training requirements and annual safety certifications.
• Evaluate the quality of grooms and provide ongoing learning opportunities.
• Perform Hands on Pet (HOP) assessments on all pets to recommend services and build trust with pet parents.
• Perform dog grooming services to breed standards and to client's personal preferences.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of every pet and associate in the store, taking immediate action whenever necessary.

Requirements

• Experience in pet grooming and salon management.
• Strong leadership and customer service skills.
• Ability to evaluate grooming quality and provide constructive feedback.
• Knowledge of pet safety and grooming standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a different business unit like the store or the Pets Hotel.
• Previous roles as a District Academy Trainer or Quality and Education Manager.
