About the position

The Pet Host Client Services role at New Tampa Pet Resort is designed for individuals who are passionate about animals and customer service. This position serves as the first point of contact for clients and their pets, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. The successful candidate will embody the company's mission of 'Pet Lovers Delighting Pet Lovers' and will be responsible for various tasks including check-ins, check-outs, and managing reservations while maintaining a clean and safe environment for pets and clients alike.

Responsibilities

  • Provide impeccable customer service by following service principles.
  • Answer all incoming calls, respond to voicemails and emails.
  • Make boarding reservations and book grooming, training, and temperament test appointments.
  • Schedule daycare reservations and manage cash, check, and credit card transactions.
  • Get to know clients and their pets on a regular basis.
  • Input all client and pet information into resort computer systems.
  • Interact closely with other staff to ensure client and pet needs are understood and addressed.
  • Obtain vaccination records from veterinary offices and input them into the computer.
  • Assist in managing waitlists during peak times and ensure room utilization.
  • Act as a liaison between veterinarians and customers, keeping all parties informed.
  • Help initiate 'white glove' treatment for best customers by securing reservations early.
  • Respond promptly to customer relations issues and address uncomfortable situations.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of the facility and notify management of low inventory levels.
  • Maintain common areas and ensure they are free from hazards.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in customer service and a passion for helping people and animals.
  • Ability to multitask and work under various conditions including temperature extremes and distractions.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a flexible schedule.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and safe handling practices.
  • Ability to manage difficult customer situations with tact and diplomacy.
