Pet Sitter/Dog Walker

About the position

Kellie's Pet Sitting Service is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join their team as a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker. This part-time role involves caring for various pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and rabbits, primarily in the customers' homes. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage different types of pets while ensuring their well-being and safety.

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs in various weather conditions, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation.
• Maintain control of dogs at all times, using appropriate leashes and harnesses.
• Monitor the behavior and health of each dog during walks, reporting any concerns to the owner.
• Provide basic grooming as needed, such as brushing or cleaning paws after walks, or playing with cats, cleaning litter boxes, etc.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for the animals in your care.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animal behavior.
• Assist with additional pet care tasks such as feeding or administering medications if required.
• Demonstrate strong animal interaction to ensure a positive experience.

Requirements

• Previous experience in pet care is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of animal behavior and dealing with various animals.
• Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with pet owners.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their care and well-being.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while adhering to scheduled appointments.
• Flexibility and availability to accommodate varying schedules including weekends and holidays.
