About the position

Your Pet Care Connection LLC is seeking an energetic and dedicated Pet Care Specialist to provide exceptional pet care services in the Pinehurst, NC area. This part-time, contract position involves caring for pets in clients' homes, including daily dog walks, pet sitting visits, and overnight care. The ideal candidate will be a reliable pet lover with a flexible schedule, capable of handling various pet breeds and temperaments, and committed to maintaining high standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive care for pets, including feeding, walking, and administering medication as needed.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of animals through proper handling and restraint techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment for pets, including grooming and kennel upkeep.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and any concerns.
• Monitor and report any health issues or behavioral changes to pet owners.

Requirements

• Energetic pet lover aged 18 years or older.
• Legal US Resident.
• Must be able to pass a drug and background check.
• 2+ years of pet experience (professional care or ownership).
• Willing to work with flexible scheduling.
• Dedicated and reliable worker with good communication skills.
• Has own source of reliable transportation.
• Reliable, trustworthy, dependable, and outgoing.
• Ability to send picture updates and messages to clients through application-based software.
• Organized, patient, and good-natured.
• Willing to provide overnight and weekend care as needed.
• Comfortable with providing oral medications (ability to also provide injection-based medications preferred).
• Knowledgeable about or able to learn to recognize signs of heat exhaustion, anxiety, health risks, and behavioral posturing in both canines and felines.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds if needed.
• Able to walk 5+ miles daily, as needed.

• Experience with a full range of animal breeds and sizes, as well as different pet temperaments and ages.
