About the position

The Postdoctoral Scientist position in the Sergei Grivennikov Lab at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center focuses on advancing research in immunology, microbiota, tissue microenvironment, and cancer. The role involves conducting independent research while collaborating closely with the Principal Investigator and other lab scientists. Candidates will engage in both routine and complex laboratory procedures, contributing to ongoing projects and developing their own research lines within the lab's broad scientific interests.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures in immunology and cancer biology.
• Contribute conceptually and technically to drive research projects forward.
• Work independently on research projects designed by a mentor.
• Collaborate with the mentor and other lab members on research interests.
• Acquire thorough technical and theoretical knowledge of research projects and objectives.
• Conduct detailed data collection and analysis, and maintain specialized equipment.

Requirements

• Doctorate Degree (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in biomedical sciences, immunology, pharmacology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated aptitude to perform experimental protocols and procedures.
• Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance of specialized equipment.

Nice-to-haves

• Interest in microbiology, microbiota, and inflammation.
• Training and skills in bioinformatic analyses of large scale/big data.
