The Diabetes Care Specialist (DCS) is responsible for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively promote Novo Nordisk's portfolio of diabetes products to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and office staff. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, understanding the local payer market, and tailoring approaches to meet customer needs while driving business impact.

  • Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Understand the local payer market and its impact on customer decisions.
  • Identify business opportunities based on territory customer groups and affiliations.
  • Analyze bidding policies and contracts to influence formulary status.
  • Develop relationships with specialists and key hospital decision-makers.
  • Research and tailor account plans based on stakeholders' business practices.
  • Utilize market understanding to develop and execute territory business plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prescribers, support staff, and clinic administrators.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused approach with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across functions to share knowledge and business opportunities.
  • Implement the Novo Nordisk Way selling model with external customers.
  • Evaluate territory business opportunities and create business plans to engage customers.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement plans.
  • Control samples and company property in accordance with policies and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the disease state and treatment options available.
  • Participate in sales and marketing meetings, training programs, and conventions.
  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree, and/or Pharm D required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, Sales, Consulting, Customer Service, or Military preferred.
  • Relevant Novo Nordisk experience preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills required (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Prior experience using sales data/call reporting software ideal.
  • Self-starter with the ability to evaluate options and make decisions independently.
  • Proven leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Solid understanding of diabetes disease state and Novo Nordisk's products.
  • Experience in sales or healthcare consulting.
