About the position

The Diabetes Care Specialist (DCS) is responsible for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively promote Novo Nordisk's portfolio of diabetes and cardiometabolic products. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and understanding the local payer market to tailor approaches that drive business impact. The DCS will collaborate with internal teams and utilize analytical tools to develop territory business plans, ensuring that the latest therapies reach those in need.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists.
  • Understand local payer market dynamics and their impact on customer decisions.
  • Analyze bidding policies and contracts to influence formulary status.
  • Develop account plans based on stakeholder business practices.
  • Utilize market understanding to create and execute territory business plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prescribers and clinic administrators.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused approach with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across functions to share knowledge and business opportunities.
  • Implement the Novo Nordisk Way selling model during customer interactions.
  • Evaluate territory business opportunities and create business plans to engage customers.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement plans.
  • Manage territory budget and marketing promotional program budget effectively.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of diabetes disease states and treatment options.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Pharm D required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, Sales, Consulting, Customer Service, or Military.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel) required.
  • Proven leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Solid understanding of diabetes disease state and Novo Nordisk's products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales data/call reporting software.
  • Relevant experience with Novo Nordisk products.
