About the position

The Diabetes Care Specialist (DCS) at Novo Nordisk is responsible for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively promote the company's portfolio of diabetes and cardiometabolic products to healthcare professionals (HCPs). This role involves building and maintaining relationships with various medical staff and understanding the local payer market to tailor approaches that drive business impact while ensuring patient needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists.
  • Understand local payer market dynamics and their impact on customer decisions.
  • Identify business opportunities based on territory customer groups and affiliations.
  • Analyze bidding policies and contracts to influence formulary status.
  • Develop account plans tailored to stakeholders' business practices.
  • Utilize market understanding to create and execute territory business plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prescribers and clinic administrators.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused approach with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across functions to share knowledge and business opportunities.
  • Implement the Novo Nordisk Way selling model with external customers.
  • Evaluate territory business opportunities and create business plans to engage customers.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure accountability.
  • Manage territory budget and marketing promotional program budget responsibly.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of diabetes disease states and treatment options.
  • Participate in sales and marketing meetings, training programs, and conventions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Pharm D required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, Sales, Consulting, Customer Service, or Military preferred.
  • Relevant experience with Novo Nordisk preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills required (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Self-starter with decision-making ability and minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of diabetes disease state and Novo Nordisk's products.

  • Experience with sales data and call reporting software.
