About the position

The Obesity Care Specialist (OCS) at Novo Nordisk is responsible for representing the company within a designated territory, focusing on building strong relationships with healthcare providers to promote obesity care solutions. The role involves achieving sales goals through effective marketing and sales strategies, understanding local market dynamics, and advocating for Novo Nordisk's products to improve patient care. The OCS will engage with various healthcare professionals, coordinate educational initiatives, and leverage local knowledge to maximize sales and support the company's mission in obesity care.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate strong professional relationships with healthcare providers to position Novo Nordisk as a leader in obesity care.
  • Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies aimed at promoting Novo Nordisk products.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Participate in meetings, conventions, and training programs to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
  • Educate healthcare professionals on obesity treatment and the benefits of Novo Nordisk products.
  • Analyze local healthcare delivery models to identify business opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Manage time and resources effectively to maximize sales in the territory.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in healthcare settings.
  • Promote and sell Saxenda to targeted healthcare professionals and assess customer needs to increase sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and/or Pharm D required.
  • 2+ years of pharmaceutical, medical, or healthcare experience required.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel) required; experience with sales data/call reporting software preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Proven leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Solid understanding of obesity disease state and Novo Nordisk products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales or marketing within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of local healthcare systems and managed care dynamics.
