About the position

Life Couriers is seeking dependable and professional independent contractor couriers for various delivery needs. The position includes routed deliveries with varying schedules, STAT/on-demand pickups, and backup/standby services. Drivers will be responsible for transporting radiopharmaceuticals, generators, and medical supplies to hospitals, long-term care facilities, and patient homes. The materials are transported in totes that can weigh up to 110 lbs. Contractors must be reliable and available to run orders from Sunday to Friday, with a preference for those who can work 4-6 days a week. The work mainly occurs during early mornings through afternoons.

Responsibilities

  • Transport radiopharmaceuticals, generators, and medical supplies to designated locations.
  • Handle routed deliveries with varying schedules and on-demand pickups.
  • Fill in for route voids as a backup courier.
  • Ensure safe and timely delivery of materials, adhering to customer standards.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and no older than 75.
  • Ability to consistently lift/move up to 110 lbs.
  • Must have or be willing to purchase a sturdy dolly for transporting totes.
  • Must live within 25 miles of zip code 60007.
  • Must own a reliable and registered car or SUV (2008 or newer).
  • Must maintain state minimum requirements for bodily injury and property damage as primary auto insurance.
  • Option to maintain own workers' compensation insurance or participate in the Occupational Accident Insurance program.
  • Must pass a drug screen, background check, and online training modules.
  • Must have a clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations or at-fault accidents in the last three years.
  • Must have an Android or iOS smartphone for GPS and order scanning.
  • Must supply a cooler with reusable ice-packs for temperature-controlled specimens.
  • Willingness to return empty totes/containers back to the pharmacy after deliveries.
  • Ability to drive in inclement weather to service customers.
  • Adherence to professional appearance standards.

  • Availability to work 4-6 days a week.
  • Experience in courier or delivery services.
