About the position

The Pharmaceutical Field Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales and demand for a leading biotechnology company by educating healthcare providers about disease states and product offerings. This role requires strategic problem-solving skills and collaboration with various stakeholders, focusing primarily on pediatrics and generalists in both institutional and office-based settings. The representative will engage in cold calling, validate patient eligibility for therapy, and track activities in a CRM system to achieve market results.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve territory/primary market results measured in referrals and new prescriptions.
  • Drive demand through clinical selling and education to referring and treating Generalists.
  • Cold call on key accounts and gain access to insights.
  • Profile accounts and edit lead list to ensure correct targets are reached.
  • Validate that healthcare providers have eligible patients for therapy.
  • Edit account list data and assist with segmentation exercises.
  • Provide account feedback to leadership regarding market intelligence.
  • Track activities in the CRM system for reach and frequency.
  • Deliver approved educational messaging to targeted healthcare providers.
  • Assist clients in understanding referral processes for patients.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of pharmaceutical sales experience focused on primary care call points, preferably in pediatrics or generalists.
  • Strong B2B experience with a desire to transition into pharmaceuticals.
  • Cold calling experience in healthcare or related fields.
  • Experience with office-based selling in a complex referral model.
  • Experience working in a field team model with account managers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in rare disease markets.
  • Background in device or diagnostics sales.
