About the position

The Health Science Advisor (HSA) at Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. is responsible for engaging healthcare providers (HCPs) through various outreach methods, including in-person, virtual, and digital tools. This role focuses on improving patient care by providing on-label product information, facilitating access to resources, and ensuring a seamless customer experience within the healthcare ecosystem. The HSA will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance local market strategies and support healthcare providers in delivering quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct proactive outreach to HCPs regarding product access, on-label information, and established patient care guidance.
  • Engage customers through virtual or digital tools, ensuring their requests are met and gathering feedback on engagement quality.
  • Facilitate speaker programs and organize local provider discussions to share experiences and outcomes.
  • Elevate opportunities and feedback to the ecosystem lead, providing local market insights to inform strategy and business goals.
  • Collaborate with the ecosystem team to adjust targeting and call point plans based on customer insights.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years pharmaceutical or medical device sales experience.
  • Must reside within commutable distance of 50 miles of the primary city in the sales territory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous cross-functional industry experience in commercial life sciences or related industry engaging with key healthcare ecosystem players.
  • 4 or more years' experience working in a sales role with HCPs, ideally representing multiple products.
  • Clinical nurse or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) experience highly valued.
  • Proven track record in coaching, training, and mentoring peers.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment undergoing transformation.
  • Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding financial and qualitative goals.
  • Ability to assimilate and communicate complex clinical and product information.
