About the position

As a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist at Alcon, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the visibility and accessibility of our innovative eye care products. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients and healthcare providers. You will be responsible for covering a designated territory, focusing on a specific target list of physicians and practitioners. Your primary goal will be to ensure that the needs of all partners are met while adhering to compliance guidelines. This involves developing and maintaining strong relationships within the pharmaceutical community and associated organizations in the Pasadena area. In your daily activities, you will build disease awareness among key partners, ensuring a validated understanding of treatment initiation processes and patient identification. Collaboration will be key, as you will work with both internal and external partners on prior authorization, payor restrictions, reimbursement stipulations, and patient referrals to facilitate patient access to our products. You will manage the sales budget effectively and grow sales across your territory by developing impactful territory plans and engaging communications. Your role will also require you to employ business planning and local market knowledge to create robust sales and customer networks. You will be expected to grow relationships with all partners and communities, developing a solid understanding of treatment algorithms and business dynamics within accounts. Implementing compliant and medically relevant programs will be essential to achieving significant customer satisfaction and sales growth. You will cover and visit all customers in your area of responsibility, managing all business-related aspects, including sales, development, and relationships with owners and managers. Developing excellent relations with customers and opinion leaders will be a priority, as will participating in and conducting various meetings and events such as congresses, round tables, and training sessions. Establishing and presenting action plans to achieve sales targets, tracking agreed account metrics, and communicating progress will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will keep a constant touch on market evolution and coordinate trainings, informative programs, and product presentations while prospecting for new accounts and identifying growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.)
  • Fluency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
