About the position
The Pharmacist 1 provides pharmaceutical care in a clinical setting, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients across various age groups. This role involves compounding and dispensing medications, consulting with healthcare professionals, and supervising pharmacy technicians. The pharmacist is responsible for assessing medication orders, educating patients, and maintaining compliance with regulations and organizational policies.
Responsibilities
- Provide pharmaceutical care to patients in a clinical setting.
- Compound and dispense medications in accordance with regulations and policies.
- Consult with healthcare professionals regarding medications and patient care.
- Educate patients and caregivers about medications and alternative therapies.
- Review and assess prescribers' medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Supervise and monitor the duties of pharmacy technicians.
- Maintain inventory and records on narcotics and other drugs as required by law.
- Assist in inventory, purchasing, and quality control of drugs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
- Less than 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Valid Pharmacist (RPH) certification.
Nice-to-haves
- General understanding of Pharmacy Care modalities and pharmaceutical calculations.
- Ability to research and analyze information effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory requirements.
