About the position

The position involves coordinating an operations section of the pharmacy department at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. The role focuses on managing automation technology, optimizing technical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing medication management systems. The individual will be responsible for quality improvement activities, staff training, and collaboration with other departments to enhance pharmacy services and patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements quality improvement activities and ensures compliance with patient care and medication practice standards.
  • Continuously assesses and improves the performance of pharmacy services provided.
  • Implements policies relevant to the operation of the department.
  • Assists in planning and implementing new concepts in drug distribution and control.
  • Coordinates department's activities with those of other departments and management staff.
  • Compiles reports and special studies as requested and stays informed on relevant developments and trends.
  • Acts as a consultant to support services and ancillary departments.
  • Serves as a resource to the pharmacy staff.
  • Leads staff members by assigning work tasks, training, and scheduling work shifts.
  • Precepts pharmacy students and residents as applicable.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy degree (Pharm. D; Bachelor of Pharmacy) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Two years' experience in a relevant field.
