About The Position

The position involves providing pharmacy consulting services with empathy to patients, focusing on effective medication usage and awareness of drug interactions. The pharmacist will offer preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations and diagnostic testing, while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies. The role also includes supporting pharmacy operations, enhancing patient experience, and optimizing financial and inventory management.

Requirements

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities with knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Engage patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve patient issues in a timely manner and answer questions to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Connect with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services.
• Support efforts to enhance patient experience by increasing awareness of healthcare services offered through Walgreens.
• Participate in events that reflect the unique communities served as requested by management.
• Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions, and refer to medical providers as needed.
• Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, and medication management.
• Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations and company policies.
• Assist pharmacy manager with establishing efficient workflow procedures.
• Responsible for the opening and closing of the pharmacy and shift change duties.
• Ensure compliance with Good Faith Dispensing policy and controlled substance laws.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems and support staff and patients.
• Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and follow up with insurance companies.
• Perform clinical and wellness services such as immunizations and diagnostic testing.
• Assist pharmacy manager in analyzing performance data and implementing procedures for asset protection.
• Develop connections with the local medical community and participate in community outreach activities.
• Conduct virtual product reviews following company procedures.
• Assist the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring and training.
• Reinforce staff performance direction and provide coaching and feedback.
• Promote teamwork and motivate team members by establishing expectations and recognizing progress.
• Maintain current knowledge and required licensing as per regulations.
• Communicate relevant corporate health and wellness services to pharmacy staff.
