About the position
The Clinical/Staff Pharmacist at Frye Regional Medical Center is responsible for providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. This role involves both drug distribution and clinical activities, including monitoring drug therapy regimens and interacting with healthcare providers and patients.
Responsibilities
- Interprets medication orders and transcribes them to patient medication profiles accurately.
- Monitors drug therapy regimens for contraindications, duplications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of drug, dose, and frequency.
- Compounds and dispenses medications including sterile compounds, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products.
- Reviews/interprets laboratory data for therapy appropriateness and recommends changes as needed.
- Interacts with patients, health care providers, clinics, and prescribers involved with the patient.
- Documents all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.
- Participates in the quality improvement and medication use review activities of the department as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required.
- Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
- Valid NC Pharmacy License.
