About the position
The Pharmacist Clinical 1 PRN provides pharmaceutical care in a clinical setting, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients. This role involves compounding and dispensing medications, consulting with healthcare professionals, and supervising pharmacy technicians. The pharmacist is responsible for assessing medication orders, educating patients, and maintaining compliance with regulations and organizational policies.
Responsibilities
- Provides pharmaceutical care to patients in a clinical setting.
- Compounds and dispenses medications in accordance with regulations and policies.
- Consults with healthcare professionals and patients regarding medications and therapies.
- Reviews medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Supervises and monitors the duties of pharmacy technicians.
- Maintains inventory and records on narcotics and other drugs as required by law.
- Assesses prescribers' medication orders and evaluates patient therapy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent work experience.
- Less than 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Current Pharmacist (RPH) certification or license.
Nice-to-haves
- General knowledge of pharmacy care modalities and pharmaceutical calculations.
- Ability to research and assess pharmaceutical information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and regulatory requirements.
