Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the medication delivery system.
  • Ensure the integrity and proper storage of all medications.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities regarding medications, including policy audits and Drug Utilization Evaluation studies.
  • Maintain records and reports related to the purchase, receipt, and disposition of drugs and related supplies.
  • Deliver pharmaceutical care, promoting health and preventing disease in collaboration with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Monitor, initiate, and modify medication use to ensure safe and effective drug therapy regimens.
  • Maintain security of the correctional institution as a primary responsibility.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Pharmacy or equivalent (Ph.D., Pharm.D.) recognized by an accrediting body.
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
  • Ability to distinguish basic colors.

Nice-to-haves
