About The Position

This position is for a pharmacist within the federal system, specifically targeting locations in Chinle, AZ; Inscription House, AZ; Kayenta, AZ; Pinon, AZ; Red Mesa, AZ; Tsaile, AZ; Bloomfield, NM; Crownpoint, NM; Gallup, NM; Shiprock, NM; and Tohatchi, NM. The role requires a doctoral degree in Pharmacy recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an equivalent accrediting body. Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a relevant jurisdiction and must meet specific medical requirements, including the ability to distinguish basic colors. Requirements

• A doctoral degree in Pharmacy recognized by the ACPE or an equivalent accrediting body.
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Ability to distinguish basic colors.
• For GS-11 level: Three years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, Pharm.D. or equivalent.
• For GS-12 level: One year of professional pharmacy experience in addition to GS-11 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing medications prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
• Providing information to health practitioners and patients about proper usage of medications and side effects.
• Evaluating medication use patterns and outcomes for patients in hospitals or managed care organizations.
• Performing administrative, consultative, or staff advisory work for a medical facility's pharmacy program.
• Planning, monitoring, and evaluating medication programs or regimens.
• Establishing medication-handling procedures for the storage and preservation of medications.
• Researching medical literature and/or clinical medication information to provide accurate responses to inquiries.
• Maintaining all medication records required by law.
