About the position

GoldStar Pharmacy is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage financial operations across multiple locations. This role involves overseeing bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance, while contributing to the strategic growth of the company. The Accountant will play a key role in providing financial insights and guidance to senior management, ensuring the company's financial health and adherence to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow effectively.
  • Reconcile third-party payments, including insurance claims and other reimbursements, to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to senior management, contributing to the overall financial strategy of the company.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare end-of-day financial reports, summarizing transactions and financial activities for management review.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage daily financial transactions to maintain fiscal accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in accounting, preferably within the pharmacy or healthcare sector.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements relevant to the pharmacy industry.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
