About the position
The Pharmacy Assistant at Wernersville State Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy team by filling prescriptions, preparing unit-dose packaging, and managing medication inventory. This position is essential for ensuring that the hospital meets the medication needs of its patients in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Fill prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare unit-dose packaging and labeling.
- Transfer weekly medication carts.
- Maintain pharmaceutical supplies and monitor drug inventory.
- Manage a filing system for medications.
- Identify medications and evaluate discontinued or outdated stock.
- Place orders with pharmaceutical vendors.
Requirements
- One year of experience assisting a licensed pharmacist in a hospital pharmacy setting.
- An equivalent combination of experience and training may be accepted.
Benefits
