About the position

The Pharmacy Buyer Tech III at AdventHealth is responsible for preparing and organizing pharmacy medications, supporting pharmacists, and providing distributive pharmacy services. This role ensures safe and accurate medication services, assists in inventory management, and coordinates pharmaceutical product recalls. The position requires collaboration with pharmacy staff and healthcare providers to optimize patient care and involves various operational and administrative tasks to maintain the pharmacy's efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage as listed on patient orders.
  • Supports pharmacists and provides distributive pharmacy services.
  • Transmits multiple drug orders, reconciles, and receives invoices.
  • Maintains inventory system accuracy and data integrity.
  • Coordinates pharmaceutical product recalls and manages reverse logistics activities.
  • Prepares periodic purchasing reports as directed by department management.
  • Orders medications to maintain appropriate Par levels in the Pharmacy.
  • Completes monthly financial reports utilizing resources from multiple vendors.
  • Ensures proper storage of medications in the Pharmacy, including cold chain custody.
  • Maintains purchasing records and invoices in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Facilitates medication safety practices and identifies potential medication errors.
  • Mentors new staff and assists with training pharmacy trainees.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Associates Degree in a related field.
  • Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT).
  • Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or from the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT).
