About the position

As a Pharmacy/Certified Technician at Smith's Food and Drug, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and health and wellness services to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to treat customers and employees fairly and ethically, ensuring a safe, clean, and inclusive environment. You will be a responsible member of the community, providing the right products, services, and care at the right time, all while maintaining fair and accurate pricing. In this position, you will provide direct patient intervention by delivering health and wellness services that are relevant to the patient, in accordance with state and federal laws. Your role will involve assisting the pharmacist in various responsibilities, except those that require professional judgment. You will also be responsible for compounding medications according to state regulations, performing post-fill audits to ensure prescription information matches computer records, and supporting non-dispensing services through various platforms and applications. Additionally, you will complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law, as well as company policies. Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
  • Deliver health and wellness services relevant to patients as allowable by state and federal laws.
  • Assist the pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
  • Compound medications according to state regulations.
  • Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records.
  • Support non-dispensing services through various platforms and applications.
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law and company policies.
  • Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Any previous comparable experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Understanding and adherence to HIPAA regulations and company policies.
  • Maintaining a current national and/or state registration, certification, or license depending on state requirements.
