About the position

As a Pharmacy/Certified Technician at Smith's Food and Drug, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and health and wellness services to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to treat customers and employees fairly and ethically, ensuring a safe, clean, and inclusive environment. You will be a responsible member of the community, providing the right products, services, and care at the right time, all while maintaining fair and accurate pricing. This position requires direct patient intervention, where you will deliver health and wellness services relevant to the patient, in compliance with state and federal laws. Your role will involve not only assisting the pharmacist in various responsibilities but also ensuring that you provide a stellar customer experience by accurately and efficiently completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians, compound medications according to regulations, and perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information. You will also be responsible for complying with all sanitation and safety regulations, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying store management as necessary. Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to help customers live healthier lives.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and inclusive environment for customers and employees.
  • Provide direct patient intervention by delivering health and wellness services as allowed by state and federal laws.
  • Assist the pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
  • Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.
  • Compound medications according to state and other regulations.
  • Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records.
  • Support non-dispensing services through various platforms, resources, and applications.
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law and company policies.
  • Provide additional health and wellness services allowed by state and regulatory bodies.
  • Comply with and reinforce all sanitation and safety regulations according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure as a pharmacy technician.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous comparable experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Equivalent experience as a pharmacy technician.
