About the position

As a Pharmacy Certified Technician at Smith's Food and Drug, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and health and wellness services to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to treat customers and employees fairly and ethically, ensuring a safe, clean, and inclusive environment. You will be a responsible member of the community, providing the right products, services, and care at the right time, all while maintaining fair and accurate pricing. In this position, you will provide direct patient intervention by delivering health and wellness services that are relevant to the patient, in accordance with state and federal laws. Your role will also involve supporting the company’s health and wellness initiatives, ensuring compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, and maintaining current national and/or state registration, certification, or license as required. You will assist the pharmacist in various responsibilities, provide stellar customer experiences, and support the training and coaching of clerks and/or technicians. Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
  • Deliver health and wellness services relevant to patients as allowed by state and federal laws.
  • Support company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Understand and adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies.
  • Assist the pharmacist in responsibilities that do not require professional judgment.
  • Accurately complete all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
  • Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.
  • Compound medications according to state regulations.
  • Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records.
  • Support non-dispensing services through various platforms and applications.
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous comparable experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Equivalent experience as a pharmacy technician.
