About the position

As a Pharmacy Certified Technician at Kroger, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and health and wellness services to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our customers receive the right products, services, and care at the right time, all while maintaining fair and accurate pricing. You will be expected to treat our customers and employees in a fair and ethical manner, contributing to a safe, clean, and inclusive environment. In this role, you will provide direct patient intervention by delivering health and wellness services that are relevant to the patient, in accordance with state and federal laws. You will assist the pharmacist in various responsibilities, except those that require professional judgment, and ensure compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. Your ability to handle highly confidential information will be crucial in maintaining the trust of our customers. Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to help customers live healthier lives.
  • Deliver health and wellness services relevant to patients as allowable by state and federal laws.
  • Assist the pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
  • Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.
  • Compound medications according to state and other regulations.
  • Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records.
  • Support non-dispensing services through various platforms, resources, and applications.
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law as well as company policies.
  • Provide additional health and wellness services allowed by state and other regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Any previous comparable experience.
  • Any equivalent experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Support company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Maintain a current national and/or state registration, certification, or license depending on state requirements.
