About the position

As a Pharmacy Certified Technician at Fred Meyer, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the health and wellness initiatives of the company. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the pharmacist in various tasks while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. You will be expected to create a safe, clean, and inclusive environment for customers and employees alike, treating everyone with fairness and respect. Your role will involve direct patient intervention, where you will provide health and wellness services tailored to the needs of the patients, ensuring that they receive the right products and services at the right time, all while maintaining fair and accurate pricing. In this position, you will be responsible for accurately completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing. You will also support the training and coaching of clerks and technicians, ensuring that they adhere to the company's policies and procedures. Compounding medications according to state regulations and performing post-fill audits to verify prescription information will be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will be expected to complete CLIA-waived screenings and provide any additional health and wellness services permitted by state and regulatory bodies. Your commitment to compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other sanitation and safety regulations will be paramount. You will need to identify unsafe conditions and report any illegal activities, including theft or fraud, to store management. This position requires a high level of confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly. Responsibilities

• Support company health and wellness initiatives
• Understand and adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and the company’s policies regarding the same
• Maintain a current national and/or state registration, certification, or license depending on state requirements
• Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those that require a pharmacist’s professional judgement
• Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing
• Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians
• Compound medications according to state and any other regulations
• Perform post fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records
• Support non-dispensing services through the use of various platforms, resources, and applications
• Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law as well as company policies
• Provide any additional health and wellness services allowed by state and other regulatory bodies
• Comply with and reinforce all sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
• Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud

Requirements

• Minimum - High School Diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years of age
• Ability to handle highly confidential information
• Completion of national registration, certification or licensure
