About the position

The Pharmacy/Certified Technician at King Soopers is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and health and wellness services to customers while adhering to state and federal regulations. This part-time role emphasizes the importance of creating a safe, clean, and inclusive environment, and requires the technician to assist pharmacists in various responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
• Assist pharmacists in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
• Provide direct patient intervention and health and wellness services as allowed by law.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive environment for customers and employees.
• Handle highly confidential information with care and integrity.
• Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.
• Compound medications according to state regulations.
• Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information against computer records.
• Support non-dispensing services using various platforms and applications.
• Complete CLIA-waived screenings in compliance with regulations.
• Comply with sanitation and safety regulations and report unsafe conditions.
• Report illegal activities such as robbery, theft, or fraud.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure as a pharmacy technician.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role.
• Understanding of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
• Current national and/or state registration, certification, or license as required by state regulations.
