About the position

The Pharmacy/Certified Technician role at Fred Meyer involves providing exceptional customer service and direct patient intervention to promote health and wellness. The position requires adherence to state and federal laws while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for customers and employees. The technician will assist pharmacists and support health initiatives, contributing to the overall mission of the company to serve the community effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
• Deliver health and wellness services relevant to patients as allowed by law.
• Assist pharmacists in responsibilities that do not require professional judgment.
• Accurately complete reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing steps.
• Compound medications according to state regulations.
• Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information against computer records.
• Support non-dispensing services using various platforms and resources.
• Complete CLIA-waived screenings in compliance with laws and company policies.
• Support the coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure as a pharmacy technician.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous comparable experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Equivalent experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and adherence to company policies.
• Current national and/or state registration, certification, or license as required by state.
• Experience in compounding medications.
