About the position

As a Pharmacy Certified Technician at Smith's Food and Drug, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and health and wellness services to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to treat customers and employees fairly and ethically, ensuring a safe, clean, and inclusive environment. You will be a responsible member of the community, providing the right products, services, and care at the right time, all while maintaining fair and accurate pricing. In this position, you will provide direct patient intervention by delivering health and wellness services that are relevant to the patient, in accordance with state and federal laws. Your role will involve supporting the pharmacy team by assisting the pharmacist in various responsibilities, except those that require professional judgment. You will also be responsible for maintaining confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA regulations, and ensuring compliance with state and national registration, certification, or licensure requirements. Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
  • Treat customers and employees in a fair and ethical manner.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive environment.
  • Provide direct patient intervention by delivering health and wellness services.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Assist the pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
  • Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.
  • Compound medications according to state and federal regulations.
  • Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records.
  • Support non-dispensing services through various platforms, resources, and applications.
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous comparable experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Equivalent experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Support for company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding confidentiality.
  • Current national and/or state registration, certification, or license as required by state regulations.
