About the position

The Pharmacy/Certified Technician role at Fry's Food Stores involves providing exceptional customer service and direct patient intervention to promote health and wellness. The position requires adherence to state and federal laws while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for customers and employees. The technician will assist pharmacists and support health initiatives, contributing to the overall mission of the company to serve the community effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
• Deliver health and wellness services relevant to patients as allowed by law.
• Assist pharmacists in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
• Accurately complete reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing steps.
• Compound medications according to state regulations.
• Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information against computer records.
• Support non-dispensing services using various platforms and resources.
• Complete CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law.
• Provide additional health and wellness services as permitted by regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure as a pharmacy technician.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous comparable experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and company policies.
• Current national and/or state registration, certification, or license as required by state.
• Experience in coaching and training clerks or technicians.
• Knowledge of compounding medications and pharmacy operations.
