About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at King Soopers, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the health and wellness of our community. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the pharmacist in various tasks while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. You will be expected to create a safe, clean, and inclusive environment for both customers and employees, embodying the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. This position is part-time and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $21.65 to $24.25. In this role, you will provide direct patient intervention by delivering health and wellness services that are relevant to the patients you serve. You will be responsible for accurately completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing. Additionally, you will support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians, ensuring that all team members are equipped to provide stellar customer experiences. You will also be involved in compounding medications according to state regulations and performing post-fill audits to verify prescription information against computer records. Your commitment to compliance is essential, as you will need to adhere to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and the company's policies. You will also be responsible for identifying unsafe conditions and notifying store management, ensuring that all sanitation and safety regulations are followed. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, and candidates must be at least 18 years of age. Previous pharmacy technician experience is desired, along with the ability to handle highly confidential information and maintain a current national and/or state registration, certification, or license as required by state law.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
  • Assist the pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
  • Accurately complete all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
  • Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.
  • Compound medications according to state regulations.
  • Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records.
  • Support non-dispensing services through various platforms and applications.
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law.
  • Provide additional health and wellness services allowed by state and regulatory bodies.
  • Comply with sanitation and safety regulations according to health code regulations.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure as required by state law.
  • Any previous comparable experience as a pharmacy technician is desired.
  • Support company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Understand and adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain a current national and/or state registration, certification, or license.
