About the position

As a Pharmacy Certified Technician at Fry's Food Stores, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the health and wellness initiatives of the company. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the pharmacist in various tasks while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. You will be expected to create a safe, clean, and inclusive environment for customers and employees alike, treating everyone with fairness and respect. Your role will involve direct patient intervention, where you will provide health and wellness services tailored to the needs of the patients, ensuring that they receive the right products and services at the right time, all while maintaining fair and accurate pricing. In this position, you will demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. You will be responsible for maintaining a current national and/or state registration, certification, or license as required by state regulations. Additionally, you will support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians, ensuring that all team members adhere to the highest standards of customer service and operational efficiency. Your ability to handle highly confidential information will be paramount, as you will be dealing with sensitive patient data and health information. You will also be tasked with compounding medications according to state regulations, performing post-fill audits to verify prescription information, and supporting non-dispensing services through various platforms and applications. Compliance with sanitation and safety regulations is critical, and you will be expected to identify and report any unsafe conditions to store management. Overall, your role will be integral to the success of the pharmacy department and the overall mission of Fry's Food Stores to feed the human spirit through exceptional service and care.

Responsibilities

  • Support company health and wellness initiatives
  • Understand and adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and the company’s policies regarding the same
  • Maintain a current national and/or state registration, certification, or license depending on state requirements
  • Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those that require a pharmacist’s professional judgement
  • Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing
  • Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians
  • Compound medications according to state and any other regulations
  • Perform post fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records
  • Support non-dispensing services through the use of various platforms, resources, and applications
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law as well as company policies
  • Provide any additional health and wellness services allowed by state and other regulatory bodies
  • Comply with and reinforce all sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
  • Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Completion of national registration, certification or licensure
