About the position

As a Pharmacy Certified Technician at King Soopers, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the health and wellness of our community. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the pharmacist in delivering pharmaceutical care while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. You will be expected to create a safe, clean, and inclusive environment for both customers and employees, treating everyone with fairness and respect. In this role, you will engage directly with patients, providing health and wellness services that are relevant to their needs. You will be responsible for accurately completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing, ensuring that customers receive the right products and services at the right time. Additionally, you will support the training and coaching of clerks and technicians, helping to foster a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment. You will also be tasked with compounding medications according to state regulations, performing post-fill audits to verify prescription information, and supporting non-dispensing services through various platforms and applications. Compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other sanitation and safety regulations is paramount, and you will be expected to identify and report any unsafe conditions or illegal activities. Responsibilities

  • Support company health and wellness initiatives
  • Understand and adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and the company’s policies regarding the same
  • Maintain a current national and/or state registration, certification, or license depending on state requirements
  • Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those that require a pharmacist’s professional judgement
  • Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing
  • Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians
  • Compound medications according to state and any other regulations
  • Perform post fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records
  • Support non-dispensing services through the use of various platforms, resources, and applications
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law as well as company policies
  • Provide any additional health and wellness services allowed by state and other regulatory bodies
  • Comply with and reinforce all sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
  • Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Completion of national registration, certification or licensure
