About the position

As a Pharmacy Certified Technician at Kroger, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the health and wellness of our community. Your primary responsibility will be to assist pharmacists in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. In this position, you will engage directly with patients, providing health and wellness services that are relevant to their needs. This includes handling confidential information with care and ensuring that all interactions are conducted ethically and professionally. You will also be responsible for accurately processing prescriptions, including data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing, while maintaining a stellar customer experience. Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
  • Assist pharmacists in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
  • Accurately complete all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
  • Compound medications according to state and federal regulations.
  • Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records.
  • Support non-dispensing services through various platforms and applications.
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law.
  • Provide additional health and wellness services allowed by state and regulatory bodies.
  • Comply with sanitation and safety regulations and identify unsafe conditions.
  • Report all illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure as a pharmacy technician.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a comparable role.
  • Understanding of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
  • Current national and/or state registration, certification, or license as required by state regulations.
  • Experience in supporting company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Ability to assist in the coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.
