About the position

As a Pharmacy Certified Technician at Kroger, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the health and wellness of our community. Your primary responsibility will be to assist pharmacists in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. You will also be responsible for accurately processing prescriptions, including data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing, while maintaining a stellar customer experience. Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
• Assist pharmacists in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
• Accurately complete all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
• Compound medications according to state and federal regulations.
• Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records.
• Support non-dispensing services through various platforms and applications.
• Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law.
• Provide additional health and wellness services allowed by state and regulatory bodies.
• Comply with sanitation and safety regulations and identify unsafe conditions.
• Report all illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure as a pharmacy technician.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a comparable role.
• Understanding of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
• Current national and/or state registration, certification, or license as required by state regulations.
• Experience in supporting company health and wellness initiatives.
• Ability to assist in the coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.
