About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at King Soopers, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the health and wellness of our community. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the pharmacist in various tasks while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. In this role, you will provide direct patient intervention by delivering health and wellness services that are relevant to the patients you serve. You will be responsible for handling highly confidential information and must adhere to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. Your duties will include assisting the pharmacist in all responsibilities that do not require professional judgment, ensuring a stellar customer experience through accurate data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing. You will also support the training and coaching of clerks and technicians, compound medications according to regulations, and perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information. Additionally, you will be expected to comply with all sanitation and safety regulations, identify unsafe conditions, and report any illegal activities. Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
  • Assist the pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
  • Accurately complete all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
  • Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.
  • Compound medications according to state and federal regulations.
  • Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records.
  • Support non-dispensing services through various platforms and applications.
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law.
  • Provide additional health and wellness services allowed by state and regulatory bodies.
  • Comply with and reinforce all sanitation and safety regulations and guidelines according to health code regulations.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure as required.
  • Any previous comparable experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
