About the position

As a Pharmacy/Certified Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the health and wellness initiatives of our community. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the pharmacist in delivering health and wellness services while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. You will be expected to treat customers and employees fairly and ethically, creating a safe and inclusive environment. Your work will involve providing the right products, services, and care at the right time, all while maintaining fair and accurate pricing. You will also be responsible for direct patient intervention, which includes offering health and wellness services relevant to the patients you serve. In this role, you will demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. You will be tasked with supporting company health and wellness initiatives, adhering to HIPAA regulations, and maintaining your national and/or state registration, certification, or license as required. You will assist the pharmacist in various responsibilities, excluding those that require professional judgment, and ensure a stellar customer experience by efficiently completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing. Additionally, you will support the training and coaching of clerks and/or technicians, compound medications according to regulations, perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information, and support non-dispensing services through various platforms. You will also be responsible for completing CLIA-waived screenings and providing any additional health and wellness services allowed by regulatory bodies. Compliance with sanitation and safety regulations is paramount, and you will be expected to identify unsafe conditions and report any illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud. This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Support company health and wellness initiatives
  • Understand and adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and the company’s policies regarding the same
  • Maintain a current national and/or state registration, certification, or license depending on state requirements
  • Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those that require a pharmacist’s professional judgement
  • Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing
  • Support the continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians
  • Compound medications according to state and any other regulations
  • Perform post fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records
  • Support non-dispensing services through the use of various platforms, resources, and applications
  • Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law as well as company policies
  • Provide any additional health and wellness services allowed by state and other regulatory bodies
  • Comply with and reinforce all sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
  • Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Completion of national registration, certification or licensure
