About the position

As a Pharmacy Clerk at Ralphs, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to our community. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers in a fair and ethical manner, ensuring they receive the right products, services, and care at the right time. In this role, you will support company health and wellness initiatives and adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. You will provide a stellar customer experience by accurately and efficiently performing all steps of product dispensing, as allowed by state law. Understanding and following company guidelines on cash register operations is essential, as you will handle various payment methods, including credit/debit cards, EBT, gift cards, cash, and checks. You will also be responsible for promoting sales and services to customers and store associates, answering phone inquiries, and maintaining inventory control, including shelf maintenance and computerized inventory management. Your work environment will require you to maintain departmental standards, ensuring that workstations and customer waiting areas are clean and organized. You will create an atmosphere that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated. Compliance with safety and sanitation regulations is paramount, and you will be expected to identify unsafe conditions and notify store management. Additionally, you will need to report any illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud, to ensure a safe shopping experience for everyone.

Responsibilities

  • Support company health and wellness initiatives
  • Understand and adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations
  • Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately and efficiently performing all steps of release to patient and product dispensing
  • Understand and follow the company guidelines on the operation of the cash register
  • Follow all cashier handling policies to prevent loss
  • Tender electronic fund transactions such as Credit/Debit Cards, EBT, and Gift Cards, as well as cash and check transactions
  • Understand and adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering vendor coupons
  • Promote sales and services to customers and store associates
  • Answer phone and triage calls and answer inquiries as appropriate
  • Complete all aspects of allowable inventory control, including shelf maintenance
  • Understand and follow the company guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of non-legend drugs
  • Maintain departmental standards including keeping clean and organized work stations and customer waiting areas
  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
  • Comply with and reinforce all safety and sanitation regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations
  • Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
  • Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud

Requirements

  • Minimum - High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to handle confidential information
