About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy. This role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations under direct supervision. The associate will also maintain a clean and organized store environment, manage inventory, and support pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members.
• Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
• Registers customer purchases on assigned cash register and processes transactions.
• Recommends items for sale to customers and assists in locating products.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves.
• Enters patient and drug information into pharmacy systems accurately.
• Fills prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
• Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely manner.
• Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Constructs and maintains promotional displays and ensures compliance with product placement policies.
• Provides customer service in the photo area and assumes web pick-up responsibilities.
• Ensures the store is clean, neat, and orderly, complying with company policies.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
