About the position

As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate, you will play a vital role in enhancing customer experiences by providing exceptional service and support in a pharmacy setting. This entry-level position involves assisting pharmacists, managing customer interactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations while contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Registers sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous and efficient checkout service.
• Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Shares customer service best practices with team members to enhance customer interactions.
• Provides fast and efficient service, recommending items for sale and processing customer purchases accurately.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, taking inventory and maintaining records.
• Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist, including entering patient and drug information and filling prescriptions accurately.
• Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention and processes manual claims for third-party prescription services.
• Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals, and maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques.
• Constructs and maintains promotional displays and assists with product placement as per policies.
• Provides customer service in the photo area and assumes web pick-up responsibilities.
• Ensures the store is clean and orderly, complying with all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens is preferred.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting and measuring medications.
• Good computer skills are preferred.
• Knowledge of store inventory control is preferred.
• PTCB certification is preferred.
